📄 Introduction

This policy applies to the DNS Speed Test app (the "Application") for Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux, created by Niktec ("we", "us") as a free service.

🔗 Third Party Services

These services may collect data such as your IP address, device and app information, and, for ads, your advertising ID. Their own privacy policies apply.

Advertising and consent

Apart from the services above, we share information with others only if required by law.

⚖ Legal Bases (GDPR)

• Ads on Android and iOS: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG) via Google's consent message where required. You can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect earlier processing. Limited ads, and ads where no consent is required, rely on our legitimate interest in financing the free app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Usage statistics and crash reports: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG) wherever a consent dialog is shown, which is on desktop and on Android and iOS where required; otherwise our legitimate interest in running and improving the app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings.
• Purchases (Android): performing the purchase contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Server list and DNS tests: providing the app's function (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in a working app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

🌐 International Transfers

Google, Cloudflare, Sentry and RevenueCat may process data in the United States and other countries outside the EEA. Where required, this relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

🗃 Data Retention

• On your device: until you delete it or uninstall the Application.
• Our servers: none. We store no user data ourselves.
• Google Analytics: deleted automatically after 14 months.
• Firebase Crashlytics: 90 days. Sentry: 30 days.
• RevenueCat and Google: according to their own policies and legal retention duties.

🔑 Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete and restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority. Providing data is not required to use the Application, and there is no automated decision-making.

Because the Application has no accounts, we usually cannot link data held by the services above to you.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. Contact us at the address below. In Germany, the competent supervisory authority is the LDI NRW (Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen).

🇺🇸 US State Privacy Rights

If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law, you may have the right to know what personal data we process, to delete or correct it, and to opt out of the sharing of personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal data for money. Ads on Android and iOS may involve sharing your advertising ID and device information with Google. You can opt out in Settings → Privacy & Ads. 👶 Children

The Application is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
